Eye Break: Bungalow

Unbelievable bedding, housewares, and paper products from the Danish boutique, Bungalow. The site is such a visual feast, with beautiful photographs of South India, where many of the products are made. I swiped some of the inspiration photos and paired them with a few of Bungalow's bountiful delights...

Escapism

I was going to write a post about how I woke up this morning expecting to be laid off. And how I donned my super sinister Darth Vader Ensemble of Strength, packed up my jerky drawer and my file of passive-aggressive emails, and prayed to the good lord for the strength to behave with dignity in the manner of Nelson Mandela/Clay Aiken. And then I was going to write about how freaked out I was, and how it was all a false alarm, and how I had to look at pictures of baby pigs for a solid hour afterward to calm myself down.

But it’s all so exhausting that I’d rather avoid the unpleasantness,. Let us reflect on a happier time. At this point last year, Fauxhawk and I were in India at a wedding.



I was busy getting hennaed with the bride…



And wearing Indian jewels…



And dressing Fauxhawk up like a Brahmin priest (sorry dearest, I know you hate this picture but I couldn’t help myself. It just makes me so happy)…

We walked the sun-soaked streets of Udaipur...




And admired the dancing girls of Jodhpur...



Wandering around markets, collecting faces here and there...





And marveling at the intricate stonework of Agra.



How wonderful it was. What I wouldn't do to go back.
