I am guilty of not buying a book because I hate the cover. An ugly cover seems utterly senseless to me when there are so many talented designers looking for a good book to sink their teeth into.
Here we have an example of a book I bought because of the cover. I spotted it as soon as I walked into my neighborhood bookstore and kept visiting it, hovering around it, circling it. I bought it without even reading the back of the book, and while I think there is something deeply wrong with that, I intend to read it and enjoy the pleasure of carrying around something beautiful.
