Reykjavik is a sleepy little town by day, but it is by no means cutesy. The hotels are sleek and ultra modern, the houses are simple constructions of corrugated metal, and the harbor is largely no-nonsense. I don't know what I was expecting, but it involved a LOT more little people dancing around mini Stonehenges a la Spinal Tap. WHERE ARE THE LITTLE PEOPLE? TAKE ME TO YOUR LITTLE PEOPLE.
After a rather unappetizing breakfast of "meat soup" we wandering around town in the brilliant sunlight, stopping for coffee from time to time and nosing around little shops. The Hawk went off to nap and I headed for the harbor - a poem in blue.
More soon...
