This is what happens after I split a bottle of wine over lunch with the beautiful Genevieve from Tell You (Today) on the first day of spring.
Three packs of seeds from Seed Savers Exchange:
Night-scented tobacco, sweet peas, and white cypress vine to wind around my fledgling clematis.
I could have stopped at that. BUT I DIDN'T.
At the deli, there were mounds of spring flowers. As I gathered them up in my arms, a devil in blue jeans approached with a conspiratorial whisper.
So I went. I couldn't help it. They were so beautiful. They were so cheap. I went a bit...crazy.
And then, on the Upper West Side (where the deli flowers are outta sight), I couldn't resist these anemones:
The blossoms unfurled within minutes. They seemed so happy.
I think this is what they call spring fever.
