Last week I asked you how you would spend $100 from your fairy godmother. Your suggestions were incredible. I wish I had many more Benjamins to spend just so I could snatch up all the wonderful things you mentioned. (But then the exercise would be less special - part of the fun is the challenge of exercising restraint, of plotting out a strategy, of figuring out what tugs at you.)
With the first part of the fairy dust, I bought flowers for my garden. I am waiting eagerly for those little tubers to arrive so I can stick them in the dirt and watch them grow.
After my first expenditure, I had a wee burst of inspiration: AIR MILES. Hadn't thought of them in ages, since it's now nearly impossible to do anything useful with the airlines. I called United and a lovely woman from Bangladesh pointed out that I had enough miles to book a ticket to London. All that was between me and a reunion with my wonderful friends from graduate school was the tax on the ticket. Which I promptly paid. With the rest of my fairy godmother money. JUBILATION!
There is nothing I love more than travel - except travel that brings me closer to the people I love. So in May, it's off to London I go. Let the wild rumpus begin!
(Thank you sweet fairy godmother.)
