If your fairy godmother sent you a check for a hundred big ones and instructed you to buy something luxurious, timeless and of enduring value, what would you buy?
Inspired by Susy's post about the classic beauty and quality of Kent combs, I instantly thought of a big ol' Mason Pearson brush, which hasn't changed in design since 1885. My mother bought me one when my thick, tangled hair almost reached my waist. There is nothing quite like the feel (and sound!) of a Mason Pearson brushing your tresses. Though they are expensive, they last forever (unless you are an idiot and lose yours, like I did) and have such an elegant, appealing quality.
Having been on a fairly successful spending freeze since January 1st, the thought of spending money on something non-essential has filled me with a mixture of panic and delight. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm stuck.
What would you buy with a hundred bones? I'd love to hear your ideas - feel free to interpret "luxurious" and "timeless" widely.
