After several days of feasts and festivities at G's glorious wedding extravaganza, Mumbai is beginning to feel like home. We dive into the city in a series of taxis, each one more elaborately decorated than the next, honking and weaving our way into downtown traffic.
On the fifth day, we leave the bosom of G's family for a brief foray into Rajasthan to explore the north of India. Our first stop is Udaipur, a fairytale city of white marble palaces emerging from lakes
where elephants guard mighty fortresses
watching out over lonely vistas
while light plays with color.
