Nina, the girl over at my daily bread, Reader, tagged me for a “Seven Weird Things About Me” meme. I was tagged a while back for “Seven Things About Me” (notice the absence of weirdness), my answers to which ended up being weird because I was struggling to find something normal to talk about. I know, by the way, that you shouldn’t finish a sentence with the word “about” but I am in a rilly rilly big hurry and am already rilly rilly behind on my memes (sorry Sarah – yours will be for tomorrow), not to mention my actual werk.
1. I am naturally and freakishly strong. I can throw a two hundred and twenty pound man on my back and carry him around. I can lift a refrigerator straight off the floor to dislodge a cat. One day, I will use my freakish strength against the forces of evil.
2. I remember every meal I’ve ever eaten. If we ate together, I’ll probably remember what you ate, too.
3. If there is one thing in the world that I despise – more than tyranny, human rights abuses, and Roseanne Barr, it’s having flour on my hands. It makes my skin crawl. This may explain why all of my attempts at baking have been abject failures.
4. I have an irrational hatred of animated films and comic strips. Don’t get me started on graphic novels or Japanese anime. I will have to kill you.
5. And while we’re on the topic of abhorrence, my father has an irrational hatred of Dr. Seuss. As a result, I have never read Green Eggs and Ham and all that other jazz.
6. Lobster makes me hurl. Can’t stand the sight of it or the smell of it – the mere thought of eating a giant red cucaracha makes me break out into hives.
7. Speaking of hurling, I get carsick every time I cross the Brooklyn Bridge. This is unfortunate because a) I moving to Brooklyn and will no doubt spend the indefinite future looking very, very green, and b) most people grow out of carsickness at age twelve.
The rules say I have to tag seven other unsuspecting victims, in which case I tag Sarah from Passementerie (right back atcha, babe!) , Diana from Diana:Muse, Persephone from Post-it Notes from Hades, rachael-ara from On the Edge of Something, Rabbit from Rabbitran, Fleur from Frangible Pie, and Kate from Things Written Down.
