Going through my ex-boyfriend box – a graveyard of love tokens from past relationships – I ran across a pile of letters from Dermonster. Neatly stacked and tied in a ribbon, their contents chronicled the exhilaration and tumult of my first great love. I remembered how much I missed writing letters – the tactile pleasure of good stationary, the weight of a fountain pen, the idiosyncrasies of handwriting on a page. There is something intimate and furtive about letter writing that adds to the frisson of a relationship.

When I stumbled across The Letter Writers Alliance through the beautiful blog, Athena Says, I was immediately lost in a rapture of colored ink, blotter paper and pen nibs. Dedicated to reviving the art of letter writing, The Letter Writers Alliance features beautiful and irreverent stationary designed by 16 Sparrows and a host of free downloads and goodies.
